WHEN LOVE TURNS SOUR IN CAMPUS.
A toxic relationship can be defined as a relationship where a partner controls aspects of the other partner's life and it can be abusive in a pyschological,physical,emotional or sexual way.
One of the most critical choices a person can make is with whom to be in a relationship with and the most critical is with whom not to be in relationship with.
It is inescapable and unspoken truth that most campus students will end up being in a relationship during their time at a university and it is a possibility many people in campus will experience some form of a toxic relationship and they cannot be able to know whether the relationship is toxic because of the random acts of kindness seem to make up for ignoring messages and leading people on.Campus students must recognize the signs of toxic relationship before it's too late.
Some signs of toxic relationship are;
●preventing you from making your own decisions.
●Tells you that you can never do anything right .
●shows extreme jealousy of your friends and time spent away.
●keeps you or discourages you from seeing your friends or family.
●insults,demeans or shames you with put-downs.
●Controls every penny spent in household.
●Looks at you or acts in a way that scares you
●Intimidates using weapons
●Pressures you to have sex when you do not want to or do things sexually you are not comfortable with
●Pressures you to use drugs or alcohol.
Campus students do not know how to help their friends or themselves get out of a toxic relationship.
Campus sets students up for the rest of their lives with the toxic relationship and in life they may only be attracted to men who share those similar traits.
Nothing is more important than a person's well- being so make sure that red flags do not go unacknowledged and that campus students are sticking together.
