Economical impact of the port to Mombasa people.

 The port of mombasa is the gateway and exit point for cargo belonging to avast hinterland that include Kenya,Uganda,Rwanda and Burundi .

The ports of Mombasa is managed by the Kenya Ports Authority a parastatal fully owned by the Kenya government.

The port comprises of Kilindini harbour,port Reitz,the old port,port Tudor and the whole of the tidal waters sorrounding Mombasa Island and it has a capacity of 2.65 million twenty foot equivalent unit.




Ports are catalyst for economical development as they enable trade and support supply chains.

A port offers a value proposition to Mombasa people since it confers economic benefits,ports are capital intesive infrastructures that are associated with a wide array of economic impacts this is because port development and world trade are closely interrelated.

Ports play an important economical activity to Mombasa people the higher the thoughput of goods and passangers year on year the more infrastructure provisions and associated services are required.

Instituting ports in Mombasa has been a major influential improvement in economic development 

Ports in mombasa offer many opportunities to improve free market activities and to exploit comparative economic advantages.

Some of the economical impacts are:

●Mombasa residence have access to transport facilities and it happens because most of the ports are situated close existing ports or airports.

●The high quality of administration and living environment has turned Mombasa ports into centres for international finance.
